I am working as an assistant for the Tales of the Diasporic Ordinary project. For my MA, I’m researching on mental illness in relation to polyphony and sound in Jacqueline Roy’s The Fat Lady Sings (2000). My areas of interest are the reciprocal influence that psychoanalysis and literature have historically had on each other, and how this plays out in the novel, as well as how the notion of cultural intelligibility offers a framework for approaching sounds that are perceived as unreasonable and illegible. In 2023, I will continue working with the Spinnboden Lesbian Archive on expanding their archival records of lesbian-queer racialised, diasporic, and (post-)migrant lives.
