Language Policy

Langscape Language Policy:

Multilingual communication and the choice of languages other than English within the network and in the wider research community are encouraged. Language choice within specific contexts should follow functionality and accessibility considerations. Langscape recommends for their own events to adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Conference presentations/workshops: Speaker´s choice; abstract and/or other materials (e.g. slides) to be provided in one other language; either oral presentation or abstract should be in English;
  • Publications: Possibility to publish for the international market in English under the Langscape logo, e.g. with Multilingual Matters; perspective of a mutilingual Langscape journal  to be discussed;
  • Website: Default in English; translations and multilingual contributions are welcome
  • Internal communication: Flexible depending to context (experience shows: general exchange mostly in English; private or group exchange freely chosen by communication partners)
